Long Answer To help students be effective in their career and social lives, teach the student how to think, not what to think. I have a relaxed, efficient class: no tests, no pressure, but with high standards. I think the Scientific Method is the best way we can learn about the world. I follow the Socratic Method of teaching because I believe in being and making lifelong learners. I avoid indoctrinating students to my personal beliefs because I want them to think for themselves.  However, it's important to me to teach basic moral principles of good character because I personally prefer positivity over negativity. The most important thing about learning is making mistakes. A teacher helps a student see they already have their own innate power through logic, wisdom, and good mental health practices. The student will understand that they are never alone on their learning journey because everyone is learning with them.

Docendo discimus. Latin translation: By teaching, we learn.

— Seneca

A teacher is a student, too. We are all students of life because no one knows everything, we will never stop learning,. We are always learning, even if we don’t want to learn! One great way to learn is to teach. A doesn’t need to tell students what they should think. A teacher should teach students how to think, not by giving answers, but by asking questions. Teachers must show students how to ask the right questions and find the answers by themselves.

Info

Students should not always trust the teacher!

Teachers are not perfect. Everyone makes mistakes. Ask the teacher, “Are you sure?” when you think they made a mistake. It’s OK!

In Teacher Kelly’s class, teachers are not higher than students. Students should not be afraid of teachers, and teachers aren’t always right. Teacher Kelly’s class is a place where the student may (and should) question the teacher freely without being scared. We are on Earth learning together, and Teacher Kelly wants everyone to be strong by themselves. He wants to teach students to not need teachers, and it’s still OK to want teachers.
