Part Column

This is the column for the parts of speech.

  • CN = a countable noun form (i.e., apples)
  • UN = an uncountable noun form (i.e., water)
  • V = a verb
  • ADJ = an adjective
  • ADV = an adverb
  • Synonym = a word that means something the same or similar
    • Hard is the same meaning as difficult.
  • Antonym = a word that means the opposite
    • Hot is an antonym for cold.

Term Column

This is the term for the related part of speech. If you see an en-dash (–). there is no part of speech for that word.

Example

Here you will find an example sentence for the first four parts of speech. The last two are links to the word from helpful websites, like Thesaurus.com and Wiktionary.
