This is the humility that comes from being beaten down. A person having experienced physical conflict, whether it is fighting, addictions, being poor, living in survival mode, or else, knows a lot about being physically humble. This person understands what itβs like to have nothing, to experience physical unfairness, fight to survive against threat, need help when injured, and/or to have been close to death. As a result, they gain a closer understanding of gratitude for what they have, who is around them, and who/what they want to protect. Itβs not just the idea of being safe, which is covered in the Survival Needs, but itβs the knowledge, wisdom, and gratefulness for having had to crawl up from nothing. A Learner knows how helpful it is to appreciate the piece of bread in their stomach.
