Though the world seems set to enjoy a person’s failed efforts, it doesn’t stop the Learner from being too afraid to try. It might not be the right time, the setting may not be perfect, and the team may not be ready, but launch anyway. A ship cannot see where the horizon leads by resting in the harbor with its sails furled, but it can rot away as it’s spoiled by wasted time. This is the motivation that propels the self into the wild for the hope that something is actively found, not for something that is passively washed up on the shore.
