This sounds like something bad, but it is a good step toward seeing the whole picture. This is a syndrome that can be felt after a β€œspiritual enlightenment,” and some people refer to it as killing the ego. It’s acknowledging a lingering feeling of resignation, being tired of life and reality. It’s a disorienting phase where the old self falls away and the birth of a new self comes. It can feel like a person’s living spirit is temporarily knocked out of the body. Before it swings back inside, one feels estranged, like an aimless ghost lost in space. A Learner knows that there’s a price for seeing through the illusion: there’s a sense of loss that happens when we see the game of life for what it is, and there’s a period of time that follows when we feel disconnected, disassociated, and uninterested in anything because, in our new self, we don’t understand the meaning of doing anything anymore. If everything loses its meaning, why do anything? This is the last step that leads to the agent because it drives us to find out our own purpose of being here. Everyone may feel a driving force after they work out the disconnection to life, and whatever that turns out to be is the reason why.
