Tolerance and respect lead to great first impressions. When a person interacts with a different culture than theirs, they do so with the idea that there is a totally different perspective on etiquette, politeness, and way of thinking. This is not a point of stress, but it is something to be conscious of and to give space for, especially when being a guest of a culture one has never before experienced. A Learner understands that the need to be more sensitive and accommodating is vital to maintain mutual respect and open communication. This helps to avoid making the members of that culture feel insulted and isolated.
