It’s not one’s responsibility to help people, especially when people don’t want help. There can be a time when one feels like they need to save or help people, but a Learner can see the error of this. There may be no way to help, the person may not need the help, and the person may not be aware that they need help. A Learner understands that the easiest help one could provide is to offer to listen. Anything beyond that depends on the other party. There is also something about being a helper that is like being a teacher: it’s not wise to give the student all the answers. Pushing the student in the right direction by asking the right questions can be just like providing help. The learning is in the doing, not in the hearing because a person can hear the teacher’s answer. However, if they don’t listen (process or understand the answer), it may be forgotten. For many people, practical experience is more effective than hypothetical theory.
