This is the ability to remain open to new ideas even when they disprove or clash with one’s own ideas. It’s the skill of listening more than arguing. If it is true that we can’t know everything, then it is possible that anything could be right. If there are multiple realities, then it could mean everything is right somewhere. A person who is open-minded is receptive to information, while a close-minded person is resistant. A Learner understands that being open-minded is a fluid way to adjust to what is real. An open-minded captain flows with the current around rocks, but a close-minded captain sails right into disaster.
