A person is wise to think beyond what people communicate. It’s importing to not only listen to what people say, but also deduce what they are not saying. A Learner keeps room for doubt and suspicion, never fully trusting what excuses or reason they are provided. This isn’t because they believe humans are untrustworthy by default. It’s because it is the wisest strategy to protect the self from potential hardship. It’s an advanced survival trait that senses the environment in a way that the instinctive mind might miss. A person with suspicious doubt can see through manipulation attempts, such as politically correct language or doublespeak. They keep alert to the doctor who doesn’t want to cure his patients because in doing so he’ll be out of a job.
