There is a certain ruefulness that befalls one who sees through the illusion of lifeโ€™s game. A person no longer values the same things that society does. Those values become trivial, and itโ€™s not because of an inflated sense of ego. Itโ€™s because the values are divisive and not aligned with what the person has seen: a greater sense of unity. The rueful mood might sound like thereโ€™s an aspect of regret, but itโ€™s not like that. Itโ€™s a sense of having lost oneโ€™s โ€œinnocenceโ€ of the old self. The old ways, companions, and even family members may begin some kind of slow departure from oneโ€™s life. The benefit of such a cost may come into question: is moving toward ultimate good worth the cost? The answer should be yes because one stands to gain oneโ€™s true self.
