States

(used to be in self-identity 🎁)

  • Flow State
    • This is the meditative creative action state one reaches when doing what they really love. Time flies when you’re having fun. The work can be considered play that is filled with challenges.
  • Sovereignty State
    • The feeling of needing permission from the immediate environment to go your own direction fades. Failure or rejection is no longer viewed as disaster, but an expected delay. You stop doing things for what they give you, and start doing them for how they challenge you. You want “work”: challenge, play, and the struggle.
  • Rest State
    • This is creative rest: the passive, nonjudgmental reception of enjoyment. This is the opposite of the creative state, which is necessary to equate a balance to prevent burn-out.
    • Passive Enjoyer
      • True creative sovereignty means having an internal boundary so secure that you can completely step off the conductor’s podium, sit in the grass, and just listen to the music of the room without needing to tune it or control it. You can step out of the office, leave the blueprints behind, and enjoy a shallow, simple, or beautifully passive moment of fun without guilt.
